Laser hair reduction is the quickest and easiest way to get long term reduction of unwanted hair. It works by utilizing pulses of laser light that destroy the hair follicle. The laser pulse finds the hair follicle by targeting the melanin in the hair itself, so the hair needs to be black or dark brown. Lighter colored hair (blonde, red and gray) doesn’t have the ability to absorb the photons of laser light without the right amount of melanin, and will unfortunately not respond to treatment. Something to keep in mind when scheduling your treatments. The pesky gray are here to stay!

Also, the light beam can only effectively zap hair follicles in the active growth stage (Antigen), which at any given time is about 10% of hair follicles. It takes 4-8 weeks (depending on the body area) for the next hair-cycle to start, and for new hair follicles to wake up. This is the optimal time for your next treatment. Most clients require between 6-10 sessions to achieve their desired results. Then sometimes period “touch-ups” through the years.
